Why A Star? 3 Nephi 1:20

3 Nephi 1 :21

Why the Star?
 21 And it came to pass also that a new astar did appear, according to the word.

Stars can be seen and used as a guide. Christ is our guide. He created the stars.

Revelation 22:16
16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

2 Peter 1
 17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my abeloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
 18 And this avoice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy bmount.
 19 aWe have also a more bsure word of cprophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day dstar arise in your hearts:

APRIL 2002 | We Look to Christ
Gordon B. Hinckley President of the Church

Abide with me; ’tis eventide.
The day is past and gone;
The shadows of the evening fall;
The night is coming on.
Within my heart a welcome guest,
Within my home abide.
O Savior, stay this night with me;
Behold, ’tis eventide.

That pretty well sums up the feelings of our hearts as we return to our homes.
May the Spirit of our Lord accompany us and remain with us. We know not what lies ahead of us. We know not what the coming days will bring. We live in a world of uncertainty. For some, there will be great accomplishment. For others, disappointment. For some, much of rejoicing and gladness, good health, and gracious living. For others, perhaps sickness and a measure of sorrow. We do not know. But one thing we do know. Like the polar star in the heavens, regardless of what the future holds, there stands the Redeemer of the world, the Son of God, certain and sure as the anchor of our immortal lives. He is the rock of our salvation, our strength, our comfort, the very focus of our faith.
Always look to Christ our guiding star.
